Where Is God? Book Review April 6, 2010

Filed under: Book Reviews — Unraveled @ 6:05 pm

We’ve all been in places where we asked the “Where is God” question.  I’ve read many books from Townsend and have the utmost respect for his research.  Again what I’ve found in his newest book is not a surprise.  There is solid scriptural advice for some of life’s toughest questions.  In the classes that I teach one of the most common questions is “Why do bad things happen to good people.”  At least 3 to 4 times each semester I get this question.  Funny…no one ever asks why bad things happen to bad people.  While I’ve answered it the best I can, it’s going to be nice to have a resource to send them to so they can delve further into the truths that are to be had.

Throughout the book you’ll find chapters on how God connects with his people, how God transforms us into people he can work through, how he connects us with others, and a gentle reassurance of his presence even when life seems to turn upside down.  While you may not find any new information, sometimes it’s in the reaffirmation of truths you already know that get us headed in the right direction again…God speaking of course!
